About Kognitos

Kognitos is an enterprise automation platform that uses a neurosymbolic approach, combining language model interpretation with a deterministic symbolic execution engine so that business rules written in plain English run exactly as stated. It targets document-heavy back-office work including accounts payable, three-way match, reconciliations and order to cash.

On 4 August 2026 the company launched Context Graph for Finance, a finance-aware foundation that encodes vendors, invoices, general ledger accounts, cost centres, approval hierarchies and control thresholds into a graph, with specialised agents reasoning on top of it. It is initially available for accounts payable. Kognitos holds SOC 2 Type II, HIPAA, GDPR and ISO 27001 credentials and names PepsiCo, Wipro and DISH among its customers.

It is positioned at enterprise finance functions and shared service centres rather than small practices, and at systems integrators building governed automation on top of existing ERP estates.

Our in-depth review

Kognitos sells a specific claim that sets it apart from most AI finance tooling: because rules execute symbolically rather than probabilistically, output cannot be hallucinated. For accounting work that is a meaningful architectural argument, not just marketing.

What it does well. The plain English rule model means a controller can express a policy such as routing invoices above a threshold without involving developers, and the execution log gives auditors a traceable path from action back to the authorising rule. The August 2026 Context Graph release addresses the real problem in AP automation, which is that exceptions and tribal judgement rarely live in any system. Security credentials are strong and the connector library is deep. Vendor-cited results such as 3,300 hours eliminated a year and 23x ROI come from Kognitos case studies.

Where it falls short. This is enterprise software with no published pricing, sold through demos, and it assumes an existing ERP estate. The zero hallucination claim applies to rule execution, not to the document extraction feeding it, a distinction the marketing blurs. Context Graph for Finance covers only accounts payable today, with other domains promised. Nothing here suits a small or mid-sized practice.

Best for. Large finance functions and shared service centres automating high-volume AP and reconciliation inside SAP, Oracle, NetSuite or Workday.

Verdict. Technically distinctive and worth evaluating at enterprise scale, but firmly out of reach for smaller firms.
