About Medius
Medius is a Stockholm-headquartered accounts payable and spend management vendor that now describes its product as autonomous AP powered by agentic AI. The core captures supplier invoices, matches them to purchase orders and receipts, and routes exceptions for approval, with Medius Copilot answering approvers' questions using the company's own data.
Around it Medius offers AI statement reconciliation against supplier statements, Supplier Conversations for answering supplier invoice and payment emails, machine learning fraud and risk detection, payments, procurement, sourcing, contract management and expense management. AP is sold in two packages: AP Essentials for core automation and one entity, and AP 360, which adds Copilot, Supplier Conversations, fraud detection, a supplier portal and three entities. Medius says it has managed integrations with Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle and Infor, more than 3,000 customers, a 97% auto-match rate on invoice lines and an average go-live of 8 to 12 weeks. It reports Leader placement in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for AP applications. These are the company's own figures.
It is aimed at mid-market and enterprise finance teams with significant invoice volume.

Our in-depth review
Medius is an established AP automation vendor that has rewritten its pitch around agentic AI. Underneath, the substance is mature invoice matching with newer assistants layered on top, which is no bad thing.
What it does well. ERP coverage is broad, with packaged integrations for Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle and Infor and Built for NetSuite certification, which matters more than any AI label. Statement reconciliation and fraud detection on supplier bank changes and duplicate payments address real AP losses. The two packages make the buying decision clearer than many rivals, and unlimited users on both avoids per-approver charges. Analyst recognition from Gartner and Ardent Partners this year suggests it holds up in demanding evaluations.
Where it falls short. There are no prices on the pricing page, and payments, procurement and expenses cost extra. Copilot and fraud detection sit only in the dearer AP 360 tier, so a quote for AP Essentials will not show the AI features in the headline. An 8 to 12 week go-live means a project, not a switch-on, and independent comparison sites note that some ERP connectors are delivered through partners, so confirm who supports yours. There is no sign of Xero, FreeAgent or Sage 50 support, so it does not suit typical UK small business clients. The 97% auto-match rate and the 4x faster approvals figure are the vendor's own and depend heavily on how clean your purchase order data is, so treat them as a ceiling rather than a forecast.
Best for. Finance teams processing thousands of invoices a month on a mid-market or enterprise ERP, and outsourced accounting providers serving such clients. In a trial, run a month of your own invoices through matching to test the 97% figure, and ask which tier each demoed feature needs, how many entities you will pay for, and what the add-on modules would cost over three years. Smaller teams should look at Stampli or a capture tool such as Dext, and US firms wanting AI-first invoice coding could compare Vic.ai.
Verdict. Credible enterprise AP automation with real ERP depth and sensible AI additions, but heavy to implement and opaque on cost below the mid-market.
