About StatementEdge
StatementEdge is a bank statement conversion service that turns digital or scanned PDF statements into clean, import-ready data for accounting workflows. It uses vision-based AI extraction rather than per-bank templates, and every conversion is checked so that the opening balance plus transactions equals the closing balance, with uncertain rows flagged for review.
The service exports to CSV, Excel, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage and OFX formats, handles locale details such as mixed date formats, Dr/Cr suffixes and multi-currency sections, and offers API and MCP server access on paid plans. Data is processed and hosted in the European Union, in Frankfurt, under GDPR.
It is positioned for bookkeepers, freelancers and small accounting practices that regularly receive PDF-only or scanned bank statements, with a free tier of 7 pages a day and paid plans from 19 euros per month.

- Vision-based, template-free extraction across 100+ banks

Our in-depth review
StatementEdge is a narrow tool that does one job: turning PDF bank statements into clean, import-ready data for bookkeeping workflows. Its pitch is vision-based extraction with no per-bank templates, wrapped in unusually transparent pricing.
What it does well. The conversion pipeline is built around a genuinely useful discipline: every statement must reconcile from opening balance through transactions to closing balance, with uncertain rows flagged rather than silently guessed. It exports directly to QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, CSV and OFX formats, handles awkward locale details such as Dr/Cr notation and mixed date formats, and the vendor says it works across more than 100 banks. EU hosting in Frankfurt and a free tier of 7 pages a day with no signup are both welcome.
Where it falls short. This is a point solution, not a bookkeeping platform; you still do the categorisation and posting elsewhere. The daily rather than monthly free allowance makes bursty backlog work impractical without paying, and the 100+ bank coverage figure is the vendor's own claim. It is also built by a small EU team, so buyers should weigh longevity risk.
Best for. Bookkeepers and small practices that regularly inherit clients with paper or PDF-only bank statements and want reconciliation-checked data without manual rekeying.
Verdict. A focused, honestly priced converter that earns its keep in any practice still rekeying statements by hand.
