Our in-depth review
Ramp Stack is an AI operating system for accounting firms, launched in June 2026, built to run reconciliation, transaction coding, journal entries and month-end close, with each decision reviewable and auditable. It comes from Ramp, the well-funded spend-management company, and claims to outperform general-purpose LLMs across 200-plus accounting tasks.
What it does well, on the evidence so far: it targets the full close workflow rather than one slice, and the reviewable, auditable design directly answers the main fear about agentic accounting, that you cannot see why the AI did what it did. Coming from Ramp, it arrives with real engineering weight and an existing finance-platform footprint behind it.
Where to be cautious: it is new, so independent long-run user reviews are still thin. The 200-plus-tasks and outperformance claims are the vendor's own, not yet broadly verified by third parties, and a firm-wide AI operating system is a significant commitment to adopt and trust.
Best for: accounting firms that want to consolidate close work onto one AI platform and are comfortable being relatively early adopters.
Verdict: one of the most credible entrants in agentic close automation on pedigree alone, with a sensible reviewable-by-design approach. Pilot it on a subset of clients and judge it on your own results while the independent track record builds.
