About LedgerUp
LedgerUp is an AI billing operations platform for business-to-business companies with custom contract terms. Its agent, Ari, reads signed contracts, generates invoices on the agreed schedule, chases overdue payments, submits invoices to customer procurement portals and reconciles revenue back to the accounting system, with Slack as the main interface.
The company is Y Combinator backed and holds SOC 2 Type II certification, is GDPR compliant and is a certified Stripe partner. It connects to Salesforce, HubSpot and Attio on the CRM side, Stripe, Chargebee and Maxio for billing, and NetSuite, QuickBooks, Xero and Sage Intacct for the ledger, and states more than 50 integrations plus a public REST API. LedgerUp says customers cut days sales outstanding by 35% on average and that most teams are live within a week, both of which are the company's own figures.
It is positioned at growing finance and revenue operations teams whose billing is too bespoke for a standard subscription engine but who do not want to replace the systems they already run.
Key Features
- Ari agent parses signed contracts and creates invoices or subscriptions
- Contextual collections follow-ups with approval gates before sending
- Submits invoices to Coupa, Ariba, Bill.com and Tipalti portals
- Cash application across bank activity, remittance files and open invoices
Our in-depth review
LedgerUp sells a narrow and honest promise: it will not replace your billing engine, it will do the manual work that piles up around it. For firms and finance teams whose receivables die in email threads and procurement portals, that is the right problem to pick.
What it does well. The scope is well chosen. Contract parsing, invoice generation, dunning, portal submission and cash application are exactly the tasks that resist rules-based automation because every customer is a special case. Ari operating inside Slack with approval gates before consequential actions is a sensible control model, and the audit trail and permissions story is specific rather than hand-waved. Pricing is unusually transparent for this category: a published $500 per month Starter tier with 10,000 agent credits, $0.12 per credit overage and a 14 day trial, with Growth and Enterprise quoted on request. The integration list is broad and the API and OpenAPI specification are public with no login required.
Where it falls short. The claimed 35% average reduction in days sales outstanding, the case study going from 99 days to 39, and the 97,090 actions in 30 days are all LedgerUp's own numbers with no independent verification. Named customers are mostly small technology companies rather than accounting practices, so a firm serving clients rather than billing its own customers will be an unusual buyer here. It is a young company with a small team, and credit-based pricing makes it hard to predict cost before you have run a month of real volume. Practical use assumes Slack, Stripe and a modern CRM.
Best for. Growth-stage business-to-business companies with custom contracts, usage billing or enterprise procurement portals, and the outsourced finance teams that support them.
Verdict. A well-scoped agent for messy receivables work, worth a paid pilot on your worst customer before committing to volume.
