About Alder
Alder is an AI agent for accounts receivable, made by Nivara, a Y Combinator Fall 2025 company whose site now lists Alder as its product; Nivara's earlier reconciliation agent is no longer offered separately. Alder chases unpaid invoices with the person who can release payment, remembers promised payment dates and checks the money arrived, escalating to a person when needed.
It also handles disputes and short payments by pulling the invoice, purchase order and payment record together for the team to decide, matches incoming payments to the invoices they cover and marks them paid in the accounting system while flagging mismatches, submits invoices to customer AP portals such as Coupa and Ariba and fixes rejections, and finds missing purchase orders. Integrations listed include Gmail, Outlook, Teams and Slack; Coupa, NetSuite, SAP and QuickBooks; and Stripe, Brex, Mercury, Chase and Plaid. It starts read-only, needs approval for anything a customer sees, logs and can reverse every action, does not train on customer data, and can be deployed in the customer's own cloud. Its SOC 2 audit is in progress.
The company says Alder goes live in three days, starting with one workflow, and sales are by demo. It is aimed at accounts receivable and finance teams at B2B businesses dealing with late payments, portals and purchase order problems.

Our in-depth review
Alder works on the receivables side of cash: chasing late invoices, sorting out short payments, getting invoices through customer AP portals, and matching what arrives to what was billed. For many B2B businesses this is where cash gets stuck, and it is time-consuming, repetitive work that rarely gets a dedicated person.
What it does well. The scope is practical. Chasing the person who can actually release payment, tracking promised dates and confirming receipt is what a good credit controller does. Portal submission to Coupa and Ariba, with rejections caught and resubmitted, solves a real annoyance with large customers. The control model is sensible: read-only at first, approval before anything reaches a customer, and every action logged and reversible. Deployment in the customer's own cloud is an option, and a QuickBooks link is listed for payment matching.
Where it falls short. The product is new: Nivara changed direction from a reconciliation agent to Alder, and the company is very small. Its SOC 2 audit is still in progress, so firms with security requirements should wait for the report. No pricing is published. Xero and Sage are not on the integration list, which rules out most UK small business clients, and there is nothing UK-specific such as late payment interest under UK legislation. Letting an agent write to a client's customers carries reputational risk, so the approval rules need care. Bank reconciliation is only a side feature here.
Best for. Finance teams at US-style B2B businesses on NetSuite, SAP or QuickBooks with many invoices going to large customers through portals. A UK outsourced finance provider could trial it for one such client. For reconciling bank feeds in Xero or QuickBooks, Booke AI is the better fit, and FullSeam covers receivables alongside payables and reconciliation with Xero support.
Verdict. A focused, sensibly controlled receivables agent with useful portal handling, but very early, still awaiting SOC 2, and missing Xero and Sage. Start it read-only on one ledger, review every draft chaser for a month, and only then allow it to send.
