Datamolino is cloud document capture for accounts payable, using OCR and AI to pull data from invoices and receipts, including full line items, and post it into Xero and QuickBooks. It is aimed at small businesses and accounting firms.

What it does well: accuracy and value. It extracts data with high accuracy (users cite around 99 percent), has offered line-item capture as standard for a decade with no per-client fee, and can auto-extract and publish without manual review for trusted suppliers. It charges per document processed rather than per client folder, support is well regarded, and it earns very high satisfaction scores.

Where it falls short: as with all OCR, supplier recognition occasionally misfires and needs a quick correction, and it can misread currencies or miss an invoice number from a phone photo. Some find the price a concern, though several who left for cheaper tools returned for the automation. Initial setup and training take a little know-how.

Best for: bookkeepers and practices on Xero or QuickBooks that want accurate, line-item AP capture with simple per-document pricing.

Verdict: a quietly excellent, long-established capture tool that holds its own against bigger names, especially on line items and pricing fairness. Keep a light review step for the odd misread, and it reliably removes hours of data entry.
