About Ambrook
Ambrook is an all-in-one bookkeeping, invoicing and payments platform aimed at family-run businesses in American agriculture, construction, trucking and property management. Its AI is applied mainly to document handling, scanning and categorising receipts and bills from a phone, with a chart of accounts that maps to IRS Schedule F and Schedule C.
The company says over 8,000 businesses use the platform. On 7 August 2026 Ambrook announced a $30 million Series B led by Lachy Groom with participation from Thomson Reuters Ventures and Thrive Capital, bringing total capital raised to $59 million. Money movement is provided through Stripe, with funds held at Fifth Third Bank and cards issued by Celtic Bank.
It is positioned at owner-operators who find general ledger software poorly suited to production agriculture, and at the bookkeepers and advisors who serve them. A Full Service tier adds monthly reconciliation and reporting delivered by Ambrook staff.

- AI receipt scanning that digitises crumpled and handwritten receipts from a phone
- Chart of accounts mapped to IRS Schedule F and Schedule C
- Profit tracking by enterprise, location, project, acre or head
- Bill pay, invoicing, spending cards and a built-in wallet
Our in-depth review
Ambrook is a vertical bookkeeping product rather than a general AI accounting tool, and it is honest about that. The AI is confined to receipt and bill capture, with the real differentiation coming from an agriculture-shaped chart of accounts.
What it does well. The Schedule F and Schedule C mapping is genuinely useful and removes a recurring source of year-end rework for farm clients. Profit tracking by acre, head, project or location is the kind of unit economics analysis that general ledgers handle badly. The mobile capture works on poor-quality paper, which matters in this sector. Ambrook's own customers, quoted on its site, report large reductions in reconciliation time, and the $30 million Series B announced on 7 August 2026 gives it runway.
Where it falls short. The AI story is thin next to agent-led competitors, amounting to scanning and categorisation rather than reconciliation or close automation. Coverage is US-only and the Schedule F focus makes it irrelevant outside American tax filing. Pricing is currently promotional at half price for three months, so the $29 and $49 headline rates are not the steady-state cost. Customer testimonials are vendor-selected.
Best for. Bookkeepers and small practices with a concentration of farm, ranch, construction or trucking clients in the United States who want something better fitted than QuickBooks.
Verdict. A well-executed niche ledger with light AI, worth a look if agriculture is a real part of your client base and irrelevant if it is not.
