About Accounting Seed

Accounting Seed is a cloud accounting system built natively on Salesforce, covering general ledger, receivables, payables, multi-book and multi-entity accounting without syncing data between a CRM and a separate ledger. Its AI layer adds agents for collections, bill pay and general ledger work alongside an AI support agent.

On 7 August 2026 the company announced general availability of Salesforce Hosted Model Context Protocol, giving finance teams more than 20 purpose-built MCP tools that work with Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and other MCP-compatible assistants at no additional cost. The vendor says more than 60,000 users are on the platform, and it carries G2 badges for best estimated ROI, easiest to use and best support for 2026.

It is positioned at mid-market and larger organisations already committed to Salesforce, and at implementation partners and outsourced accounting teams serving them.

Our in-depth review

Accounting Seed's pitch is straightforward: if your company already lives in Salesforce, running the ledger there too removes an integration layer. The August 2026 MCP release is the more interesting development, since it lets a firm point its own AI assistant at live accounting data.

What it does well. Native Salesforce architecture is a real advantage for organisations whose revenue data already sits there, and multi-book and multi-entity support is more capable than small business ledgers. The hosted MCP connector, included at no extra cost, is a sensible way to offer AI access without forcing customers onto a proprietary assistant. The collections, bill pay and general ledger agents target the right bottlenecks for close acceleration. The zero-day close claim is the vendor's own.

Where it falls short. Pricing is not published at all, only a quote form, and third-party listings suggest entry configurations well above small firm budgets. It is unusable if you are not a Salesforce shop, and implementation typically needs a partner. The AI agents are recent additions and there is little independent evidence yet of how they perform on messy real-world ledgers.

Best for. Mid-market and larger Salesforce customers, and the advisory firms implementing accounting inside their clients' existing Salesforce estates.

Verdict. A credible mid-market ledger whose new MCP layer is a smart bet, but only if Salesforce is already your system of record.

No published tiers. Every quote is custom and built around user count, module selection and implementation complexity, on top of the customer's own Salesforce licensing; third-party listings report entry-level configurations from roughly $750 per company per month.
