About Abacor

Abacor is an AI meeting assistant built specifically for accounting firms. It joins client calls on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, transcribes them with accounting-specific language tuning, and afterwards produces notes, action items and draft follow-up emails written in the accountant's own tone.

The company is based in New York and describes its founders as accountants turned product builders. It emerged from stealth in October 2025 and released a Model Context Protocol connector for Claude in June 2026, so firms can query their Abacor data from their own AI assistant. Abacor publishes a trust centre and states SOC 2 and ISO compliance alongside encryption.

It is positioned at client-facing accountants and advisory-led firms of any size, and integrates with practice management tools including Karbon, Canopy, TaxDome, FYI, Double and Xero Practice Manager.

Key Features

  • One-click client meeting agendas generated before the call

Our in-depth review

Abacor is a meeting notetaker that has been narrowed to one profession. The pitch is that a general transcription tool does not understand debits, credits or the rhythm of a client review call, and that an accounting-specific one will produce follow-ups you can actually send.

What it does well. The workflow is thought through end to end rather than bolted on: agenda generation before the call, transcription during it, then notes, action items and drafted follow-up emails afterwards, with updates pushed into practice management software. The practice management integration list is unusually broad for a young product, covering Karbon, Canopy, TaxDome, FYI and Xero Practice Manager. The Claude MCP connector, added in June 2026, is a sensible move for firms already running their own AI assistant. Abacor states SOC 2 and ISO compliance and runs a public trust centre.

Where it falls short. No pricing is published at all, so evaluation starts with a sales call. The headline figures on the site, including 99.5% fluency in debits and credits and more than ten hours saved weekly per accountant, are vendor claims with no published methodology. The product is barely a year out of stealth, the customer evidence is testimonial rather than independent, and meeting assistants are a crowded space where general tools keep improving.

Best for. Advisory-led firms and client-facing partners who run many meetings a month and lose real time to writing them up.

Verdict. A well-targeted product worth a demo if meeting admin is your bottleneck, but insist on seeing pricing before you invest time in a pilot.
