Optro
AI audit, risk and compliance agents for internal audit teams (formerly AuditBoard).
About Optro
Optro is the new name of AuditBoard, a governance, risk and compliance platform used by internal audit, risk and compliance teams. Its AI agents work alongside auditors on evidence collection, control testing and risk mapping, and the vendor says every AI decision is logged, traceable and reviewable with full audit trails. Products include audit, autonomous testing, controls management, agentic compliance and an AI governance offering.
The vendor's site says it is trusted by over half of the Fortune 500 and names PetSmart, Lennar, Marmon Holdings, Edgewell and Population Services International in case results, which are the vendor's claims. A March 2026 announcement covered the rebrand from AuditBoard, and the company's own information says Hg acquired it in 2024 and that it has acquired FairNow and Midship. Pricing is not published. A trust and security page is linked, but we did not read its detail.
Optro is positioned for enterprise internal audit, SOX and risk teams, mainly in the US. It is not aimed at small accounting practices, who will find lighter audit tools elsewhere in the directory.

Our in-depth review
Optro is AuditBoard under a new name, and the change is more than cosmetic: the product now leads with AI agents for audit, testing and compliance. It is an enterprise GRC platform built for internal audit, SOX and risk teams, mostly in the US. It does not market itself around HMRC or UK-specific audit workflows, and that is a statement of fit rather than a flaw.
What it does well. The company has real scale, with the vendor claiming over half of the Fortune 500 as customers and naming PetSmart and Lennar. The agent design is cautious: decisions are logged and reviewable, which matters for audit evidence. Autonomous testing and controls management sit in one platform, and the vendor says Hg ownership has funded acquisitions in AI governance and testing.
Where it falls short. Pricing is not published and the buying process is demo led, so budgeting takes a conversation. Integration detail is not described on the pages we read, so confirm connectors to your ERP and ticketing tools. The headline results, such as hours saved at named customers, are vendor claims. Implementation for a platform of this size is a project, not a weekend task.
Best for. Large internal audit, SOX and compliance functions, and the larger firms that support them, who want AI help inside a controlled workflow. Smaller practices doing statutory audit may prefer Fieldguide or Inflo in this directory, which are priced and scoped for firms rather than corporate audit departments.
Verdict. Strong for the enterprise audience it targets. In an evaluation, ask which agents are generally available today, how reviewers see and override agent outputs, what the trust centre says about hosting and AI training, and what data you can export if you leave. Insist on a proof of concept using a real control set before signing, and ask who on the vendor side owns the implementation plan, because an audit platform is only as useful as the controls library and workflows you load into it. Expect your own team to spend weeks mapping controls before any agent adds value.
