About Crunchafi Data Extraction
Crunchafi Data Extraction collects a client’s financial data for audit, advisory and due diligence work. The firm sends the client a link, the client connects their accounting system through a temporary, read-only connection, and Crunchafi extracts, standardises and validates the data into a single pre-built Excel workbook.
The workbook includes the monthly trial balance, income statement, general ledger transactions, chart of accounts and AR/AP detail, plus analysis such as AR and AP agings, cash flow, variance analysis, monthly ratios and accuracy and completeness checks. The company lists connections to QuickBooks Desktop and Online, Oracle NetSuite, Xero, Sage Intacct, MYOB and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (in beta).
Crunchafi says sensitive personal data is not extracted unless it sits in general ledger notes, only the requesting firm can see the data, and data is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the United States. Pricing is on request, with training and support included. The company sells a separate Lease Accounting product, listed on its own.

Our in-depth review
Crunchafi Data Extraction tackles the least glamorous part of audit and diligence work: getting a client's ledger out of their system in a usable shape. Instead of chasing exports and reformatting them, the firm sends a link, the client connects, and a standard workbook comes back.
What it does well. The read-only, temporary connection is the right design for client data, and the client only has to click a link rather than run exports. Every client's data arrives in the same workbook layout, which makes analytics, sampling and planning repeatable across engagements. The built-in agings, cash flow, variance and ratio views give a quick first read before fieldwork starts, and the accuracy and completeness checks help catch gaps early. Coverage of QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct and NetSuite handles most cloud-ledger clients, and Crunchafi's SOC 1 and SOC 2 Type II reports will satisfy most audit firms' vendor checks.
Where it falls short. Pricing is not published at all, so you need a sales call to compare it with doing exports by hand. The connection list is US-leaning: there is no mention of Sage 50, IRIS, FreeAgent or other common UK ledgers, so check your client base before buying. Data is hosted in the United States, which UK firms should cover in their client terms and data protection assessment. AI is not the selling point; this is extraction and standardisation, and buyers wanting AI-led anomaly detection should look at dedicated audit analytics tools. It also relies on the client clicking the link and authorising access, so build a reminder into your request process for slower clients.
Best for. Audit, advisory and transaction services teams that repeatedly request ledger data from clients on QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Intacct or NetSuite, especially firms doing due diligence or quality of earnings work.
Verdict. A focused tool that saves real time on data requests and makes engagements more consistent. Get a price for your annual engagement volume, then run it on three clients on different ledgers and compare the workbook with what your team would normally build by hand.
