About Hyphenate
Hyphenate, the new name for Maximor, describes itself as an autonomous finance platform for the office of the CFO. Its agents run on top of a company's existing systems rather than replacing them and cover order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, treasury, general ledger accounting and reporting. They perform routine work, escalate to a person when judgement is needed, learn from exceptions and escalations, and document every step in an audit trail. The company claims 90% of routine work runs without intervention. The old maximor.ai address now redirects to hyphenate.ai.
Systems referenced on the site include SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce and Slack, and banks such as Chase, Wells Fargo and Amex, with the promise of no migration. Customer results shown, all company-reported, include Kiteworks reaching 98% straight-through processing on cash transactions within four weeks, HiBid cutting month-end close from three weeks to five days, and Dura Software reducing back-office headcount and consulting spend by 70%; Rently and Eightfold.ai also appear among logos. Investors listed include Foundation Capital, which led the company's $9 million round in September 2025. The site links to a trust portal, DPA and MSA but does not name certifications on the homepage.
Pricing is not published; prospects book a call. It is aimed at mid-market and enterprise finance teams.

Our in-depth review
Hyphenate, until recently Maximor, has widened its pitch from close automation to the whole finance back office: cash application, invoicing, payables, treasury, the general ledger and reporting. The job is replacing manual finance operations, and sometimes the outsourced staff doing them, with agents that run on the systems a company already has.
What it does well. Layering agents on top of SAP, NetSuite and the banks avoids a ledger migration, and the customer stories show quick starts, such as Kiteworks going live in under four weeks. Covering order-to-cash and treasury as well as the close means the same audit trail runs from cash receipt to journal, which is useful for controllers and auditors alike. Escalation to people when judgement is needed, plus learning from those escalations, is the right operating model. HiBid cutting its close from three weeks to five days shows the kind of result the company is aiming for, even if it is self-reported. Backing from Foundation Capital and named customers give it more substance than many agent start-ups.
Where it falls short. The rebrand is new, so expect older reviews, press and contracts to still say Maximor, and check you are dealing with the same legal entity. Customer results such as a 70% headcount reduction are the company's own, and the 90% autonomy figure is a marketing claim. No pricing is published. The homepage names no security certifications; the earlier Maximor listing cited SOC and ISO credentials, so ask for current reports from the trust portal. There is no Xero, QuickBooks or Sage story and nothing UK-specific, and broad coverage across five finance areas raises the question of depth in each.
Best for. Mid-market and enterprise finance teams on SAP or NetSuite with heavy cash application, billing or reconciliation volumes, particularly those weighing agents against expanding an outsourcing contract. Teams wanting close management alone may prefer FloQast or Maxima.
Verdict. A credible and expanding agent platform under a new name, with real customers but self-reported results. Pilot one workflow such as cash application, measure straight-through processing yourself, and confirm security reports and contract entity before scaling.
