About Eagl

Eagl is a Ghent-based company selling AI agents for month-end close to in-house finance teams. Its agents check every posting against the company's policies as it lands, flagging problems such as wrong VAT codes, capitalised repairs, duplicate bills and unidentified credits, each with a proposed fix.

The platform also matches bank lines to the ledger so the team only clears exceptions, proposes, books and reverses accruals, and tracks every close task whether a person or an agent does it. Sessions let users ask questions about their books in plain language and turn answers into recurring close tasks. Named accounting integrations are Exact Online, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and SAP S/4HANA, with bank connections including ING, KBC, BNP Paribas Fortis, JPMorgan and Revolut, payments tools such as Plaid, Mollie, Payhawk and Atlar, and workspace tools including Slack, Teams and SharePoint. Eagl is ISO 27001 certified and GDPR compliant, with SSO, MFA, role-based permissions and an exportable audit trail.

Eagl was founded in 2025 and announced an 825,000 euro round in September 2025, led by Syndicate One and CNBB Equity Partners. Customers named on the site include Channable, Aikido, Upvest and Mint. It is aimed at controllers and CFOs in mid-sized European companies.

Our in-depth review

Eagl wants to turn month-end from a scramble into a running check. Instead of finding the wrong VAT code or the duplicate bill in the last week of the month, its agents review postings as they arrive and propose a fix. That is a sound idea, and it is aimed squarely at in-house finance teams rather than at accounting practices.

What it does well. The continuous controlling agent is the most interesting part: checking each posting against policy and flagging specific errors, such as capitalised repairs or wrong VAT codes, is more useful than a generic anomaly score. Bank reconciliation, accruals and close task tracking sit in the same place, so a controller has one view of the close. Security is taken seriously for a young company, with ISO 27001 certification, SSO, MFA and an exportable audit trail, and there is a public trust centre. The bank and payment connector list is broad across Europe.

Where it falls short. The ledger list is the problem for UK buyers: Exact Online, NetSuite, Business Central and SAP S/4HANA are named, but not Xero, QuickBooks or Sage. No pricing is published and sales are demo-led. The company was founded in 2025 with a seed round of 825,000 euros, so it is early, and buyers take on the risk of a small supplier. Its customers named on the site are mainly Belgian and Dutch businesses, and there is no UK reference customer. The AI findings come with proposed fixes, but the value depends on how well the policies are configured at the start.

Best for. Finance teams at mid-sized European companies on NetSuite, Business Central or Exact Online, with a controller who wants errors caught daily rather than at month-end. A UK practice could use it for outsourced finance clients on those ledgers. Practices with clients on Xero or QuickBooks should look at Booke AI for bank and coding work instead.

Verdict. A well-designed, well-secured close assistant with a genuinely useful posting check, but early-stage and absent from the ledgers most UK small businesses use. Run a pilot on one entity over a full month-end and count the findings that were real before signing.
