About Velixo Intelligence
Velixo Intelligence is the AI assistant built into Velixo NX, the Excel add-in that connects spreadsheets to live ERP data for reporting, budgeting and write-back. It works inside the workbook: users ask questions in plain English in a side panel, and it can explain formula errors, analyse a selected range, build reports and write commentary into cells.
Velixo announced it at the Acumatica Summit in January 2026. The 2026.7 release notes, dated 5 August 2026, made it available to every paid Velixo instance as a public preview, free during the preview with a token allowance that resets weekly, an opt-out for organisations and new terms users must accept. Report Builder writes Velixo formulas from a request and checks its own output for formula errors, Analyst cites the cells it used, Guide applies a fix only after approval, and VX.ASK() writes variance commentary in a cell. The 2026.8 release on 2 September added structured answer controls in the chat. Velixo says the platform is SOC 2 Type II certified and that Analyst data does not leave Excel.
It is positioned at finance teams and outsourced accountants already reporting in Excel from Sage Intacct, Acumatica, MYOB Acumatica, Business Central, Cegid XRP Flex, STACK or Jamis Prime.

Our in-depth review
Velixo Intelligence is not a standalone product; it is an AI layer on an Excel reporting add-in that mid-market finance teams on Sage Intacct, Acumatica and Business Central already use to pull live ledger data into spreadsheets. The job it does is shortening the slow part of reporting: building formulas, finding why a figure is wrong and drafting variance commentary.
What it does well. The design keeps the accountant in control. Report Builder writes ordinary Velixo formulas that stay visible and editable, so the model is auditable cell by cell rather than hidden behind an AI answer, and it now checks its own reports for formula errors. Analyst cites the cells it used, Guide asks before changing anything, and a whole agent operation can be undone in one step. VX.ASK() putting refreshable commentary beside the number is a practical touch for management packs. Monthly releases through 2026 have added worksheet operations, charts and clearer prompts, which suggests steady investment.
Where it falls short. It is still a public preview, so behaviour, token limits and pricing can change, and Velixo has not said what it will cost once the preview ends. It only matters if you run a supported ERP; there is no Xero, QuickBooks, Sage 50 or IRIS connection, which rules out most UK and US small-practice ledgers. Velixo's own pricing is demo-led with no public list, so the real cost is the underlying subscription, and the lock-in is to Velixo formulas in your reporting workbooks. Users also have to accept new terms before switching it on.
Best for. Finance teams and outsourced accounting firms producing month-end and board reports from Sage Intacct, Acumatica or Business Central in Excel. In a trial, ask Report Builder for a departmental P&L, check every formula it writes against the ledger, and watch how quickly the weekly token allowance runs out on a real close. Practices on Xero or QuickBooks should look at Syft Analytics or Fathom in this directory, and Excel-heavy FP&A teams wanting a wider planning layer may compare Datarails.
Verdict. A well-judged AI layer that respects how accountants audit spreadsheets, worth switching on for existing Velixo customers, but not a reason on its own to adopt Velixo or a mid-market ERP while the post-preview price is unknown.
