About Temvik

Temvik is AI bookkeeping software for UK accounting and bookkeeping firms. A firm uploads a client's bank transactions as a CSV export or a text-based PDF statement, Temvik suggests a category for each transaction using the client's own chart of accounts, and gives each suggestion a confidence score so staff can review the uncertain lines before anything is exported.

Reviewed transactions export to Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage or FreshBooks, or as CSV. Temvik says it imports each ledger's accounts for categorisation, skips and reports lines it cannot match instead of guessing, and records each exported batch to help prevent duplicates. It describes encryption in transit and at rest, account isolation and UK GDPR compliance, and keeps accounting-platform tokens server side. The company behind it is AUTOBOOKSAI LTD.

Temvik is positioned for small and growing firms that manage many client workspaces: plans run from a free tier for 25 transactions a month to Pro at £99 a month for unlimited transactions (fair usage) and 50 or more workspaces. It is designed to assist the bookkeeper rather than replace them, and works alongside the ledger rather than as the book of record.

Our in-depth review

Temvik is a small, UK-built tool that does one job: it takes a client's bank transactions as a CSV export or a text-based PDF statement, suggests a category for each line against the client's own chart of accounts, and hands the reviewed batch to the ledger. It does not replace the ledger and does not pretend to; the firm stays in charge of every posting.

What it does well. The confidence score is the useful part. Temvik says its AI flags low-confidence lines so a bookkeeper reviews the exceptions rather than every transaction, and nothing is exported until it has been reviewed. Exports go to Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage or FreshBooks, and Temvik says lines it cannot match are skipped and reported rather than guessed, with each exported batch logged to help stop accidental double posting. Pricing is published in sterling and is low: a free tier for 25 transactions a month, then £19, £59 and £99 a month, with a 7-day trial.

Where it falls short. It works from uploaded files, not live bank feeds, so someone still has to collect statements from clients each period, and image-only PDFs are not supported. The security page names encryption, account isolation and GDPR readiness but not the hosting provider or region, and the site does not say whether client data is used to train its models; ask both in writing before uploading real statements. It is also a young product with no published customer base, so test it on a quiet client first.

Best for. Small UK bookkeeping practices whose clients send spreadsheets or PDF statements instead of connecting bank feeds, and who want a cheap first pass at coding before posting into Xero, QuickBooks, Sage or FreshBooks. Firms already happy with the bank rules in Xero or QuickBooks, or with a capture tool such as Dext, will get less from it.

Verdict. A focused, honestly priced coding assistant for statement-based clients. Run a month of real statements through the free tier, measure how many lines still need correcting, and check the data questions above before rolling it out.
