About ReInvestWealth

ReInvestWealth is accounting software for Canadian small businesses, built in Montreal by a team that describes itself as CPAs and engineers. Business chequing and credit card accounts connect through Plaid, or statements can be uploaded as PDFs. An AI bookkeeper categorises transactions, automation formulas give recurring vendors the same category each time, and the Smart Shoebox matches uploaded or emailed receipts to bank lines. Profit and loss, balance sheet and general ledger reports update in real time.

Its main Canadian feature is sales tax. The software generates GST, HST and QST returns and files them from the app, and the site carries a CRA-certified badge. Invoices go out through Stripe for card and direct debit payments, which reconcile automatically. Owners can invite their accountant, and the plan includes unlimited currencies, a mobile app and an MCP server for AI tools. A 2026 press release reported CA$650,000 in funding from government grants, BDC and PME MTL financing and angel investors, after the company left the DMZ incubator.

It is positioned at Canadian sole traders and micro-businesses, and the Canadian accountants who look after them, with a single plan rather than tiers.

Our in-depth review

ReInvestWealth is a small Canadian entrant taking the narrow route: rather than compete with Xero or QuickBooks on breadth, it focuses on Canadian small business compliance and keeps the price low.

What it does well. Sales tax is where it earns its place. Returns generated for review and filed directly for GST, HST and QST remove a tedious quarterly job, and QST support matters for Quebec clients that many tools ignore. The Smart Shoebox receipt matching and Stripe reconciliation cover the two places small businesses usually lose track of paperwork. One plan at CA$39 a month, or CA$390 a year, with everything included and a 30-day trial makes it cheap to test, and migration from QuickBooks, Xero or Wave is offered free.

Where it falls short. This is a small company with modest funding, so an accountant should weigh continuity risk before moving several clients onto it. Funding figures differ between the company's press release and third-party trackers, which is common at this size but worth noting. Integrations are thin next to the incumbents: Plaid bank feeds and Stripe are the main ones, with no payroll or app ecosystem to speak of. The FAQ ties free migration to an annual plan while the feature list does not, so confirm terms in writing. The claim to be the only accounting software that e-files these returns is the vendor's own. It has no use for UK clients: there is no MTD or UK VAT support.

Best for. Canadian sole traders and micro-businesses with simple books, and Canadian bookkeepers serving a list of small GST or HST-registered clients. In the trial, prepare a full quarter's return for one client and compare it with your existing workings before trusting the filing step. Clients likely to grow into staff, inventory or several entities are better placed on Xero or QuickBooks from the start.

Verdict. A focused, affordable Canadian AI bookkeeper whose sales tax filing is the main reason to consider it. Outside Canada it is not relevant, and inside Canada it suits the smallest clients best.
