About Perk
Perk, formerly TravelPerk, is a travel and spend management platform founded in 2015 and rebranded in November 2025, with headquarters in London and Boston and UK offices in Birmingham and Edinburgh. It combines business travel booking in more than 178 countries with corporate cards and expense processing. The company says its AI captures receipts, matches them to card transactions, applies expense policy, routes approvals and updates the connected ERP.
In July 2026 Perk launched an MCP connector for Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot and Gemini, and in August said users could book travel, submit expenses and create events from those assistants, with out-of-policy items sent to the normal approval flow. In June 2026 it announced a $300 million credit facility led by Neuberger Specialty Finance. Its pricing page lists Xero and QuickBooks as standard connectors, with SAP and an Open API on Pro. The company says it serves more than 12,000 customers and tracks recoverable VAT on travel.
It is aimed at finance and operations teams in companies with regular travel spend. For accountants it matters mainly as the system feeding coded, receipted expenses into a client's ledger rather than as a practice tool.

Our in-depth review
Perk sits on the edge of this directory. It is a travel and spend platform first, but the AI that reads receipts, matches them to card lines and pushes coded expenses into Xero or QuickBooks decides how much month-end tidying a bookkeeper inherits from a travel-heavy client.
What it does well. Expense capture is tied to the booking, so a hotel bought through Perk already carries the trip, traveller and policy before the receipt lands. The company says its AI handles extraction, matching and policy checks, which removes much of the chasing. Recoverable VAT tracking on travel is a useful detail for UK clients. The MCP connector is ahead of most rivals: submitting a receipt or pulling a report from an AI assistant works, and out-of-policy items go back into the normal approval route. The June 2026 credit facility suggests the business is well funded.
Where it falls short. Pricing is layered. Travel plans carry a 3% or 5% booking fee on top of any platform fee, and spend plans charge per active user, meaning anyone who submits or reviews an expense in a month. The pricing page shows US dollar figures and two different rates for the same bundles, so get a written sterling quote. Standard connectors are Xero and QuickBooks, with SAP on Pro; Sage, FreeAgent and IRIS users should test the export file first. Lock-in is real once cards, policies and travel history live in one place.
Best for. Growing companies with frequent staff travel that want booking, cards and expenses in one system. In a trial, an accountant should check the Xero or QuickBooks sync closely: how VAT is split on foreign hotels, how card lines are coded, and what happens to a receipt that turns up weeks late. For a client that rarely travels, Expensify or Dext will cover receipt capture with far less setup.
Verdict. A capable, AI-ready expense layer for travel-heavy clients, but it is client infrastructure rather than a practice tool, and the pricing needs a firm quote before anyone signs.
