About Ottimate
Ottimate, formerly known as Plate IQ, is an accounts payable automation platform. It captures invoices down to line item level, including handwritten ones, codes them to the general ledger, checks costs against purchase orders and receipts, routes approvals and pays suppliers. It also reconciles supplier statements and gives each invoice a risk score to catch anomalies before payment.
Ottimate says its capture is 98% accurate and lists integrations with QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics and Acumatica. Its summer 2026 release, announced on 10 June 2026, added what it calls the first Model Context Protocol integration in the AP market, so finance teams can query AP data from the AI assistant of their choice, plus risk-based approvals and suggested GL coding on expenses. Shawn Lane was appointed chief executive in March 2026. Accuracy and time-saving figures are Ottimate's own.
It is aimed at multi-location businesses in hospitality, grocery, healthcare and construction, and at accounting and bookkeeping firms that run AP for such clients.
Key Features

Our in-depth review
Ottimate grew up in restaurants and grocery, where invoices are long, handwritten and full of line items that matter, and that heritage still shows. It is one of the few AP tools that treats line-level detail as the point rather than an afterthought.
What it does well. Line item capture, cost checks against purchase orders and statement reconciliation are genuinely useful for clients who buy the same goods every week from many suppliers. Risk scores and anomaly flags give a reviewer somewhere to start, and the MCP integration is a sensible nod to how teams now work.
Where it falls short. Pricing is quote only and volume based, and reviewers mention bills that grow with invoice count. Xero does not appear in its integration list, which rules it out for many UK practices. The accuracy figures are the vendor's own.
Best for. US bookkeeping firms and finance teams serving restaurants, retail and other multi-site clients on QuickBooks, Sage Intacct or NetSuite. Firms wanting a broader AP inbox with Xero support should compare Dext or Stampli first.
Verdict. A strong line-item AP tool for hospitality-style clients, worth a trial on a client's messiest supplier, but check volume pricing and ERP fit before committing.

Strong line-item AP automation for hospitality and multi-site clients, though quote-only pricing and no listed Xero integration narrow its appeal for UK firms.
