About Numos

Numos is an agentic AI platform for finance and accounting teams, based in San Mateo, California, which describes itself as an AI teammate for finance. Rather than replacing the system of record, it connects to a company's existing ERP and finance systems and runs teams of autonomous agents across multi-step workflows.

The company groups its work into four areas. For FP&A it builds custom reports, runs variance analysis and explains the drivers behind results in plain language. For continuous close it automates bank reconciliations, transaction review and accrual calculations, with audit trails. In accounts payable it routes invoices and triages payments, and in accounts receivable it handles invoicing, dunning and automated revenue recognition. Numos says its agents learn a company's own accounting policies, historical logic and entity structure. It positions itself as secure, auditable and enterprise-grade, with a separate trust site, but does not name its ERP integrations or certifications on the homepage. Testimonials on the site come from finance staff at Udemy, Tarro, Dandy and Verdigris, and from a former Chief Accounting Officer at Meta.

It is aimed at controllers, chief accounting officers and in-house accounting, AP, AR and FP&A teams at venture-backed and larger companies, not at accounting practices.

Our in-depth review

Numos is pitched at the controller who has enough systems to need reconciling and too few people to do it daily. Its idea is an agent team that sits over the existing ERP and works through close, payables, receivables and analysis, leaving the finance team to review conclusions rather than prepare them.

What it does well. The scope is sensible and the positioning is honest about where AI fits. It works on top of the existing ledger, so there is no migration, and it focuses on the recurring, rules-driven jobs where agents can earn their keep: bank reconciliations, accruals, invoice routing, dunning and variance commentary. The emphasis on audit trails and on learning a company's own policies addresses the main objection finance leaders raise about black-box AI. Testimonials from controllers at Udemy and Dandy suggest it is running in real finance teams, not only in demos.

Where it falls short. Very little is published. The homepage names no ERP or accounting integrations, no security certifications and no pricing; the only route in is a demo. That makes it hard to judge fit, cost or risk before a sales process. The breadth of the claim, covering FP&A, close, AP and AR at once, is ambitious for a young company, and automation results are not quantified independently. There is nothing aimed at UK accounting, VAT or Making Tax Digital, and nothing for practices managing many client ledgers, where tools built for firms will fit better.

Best for. In-house finance teams at venture-backed and mid-sized US companies with a fragmented stack and recurring reconciliation and close work, willing to run an early pilot. Before signing, ask which ERPs are supported natively, request the security documentation from the trust site, and pilot one workflow, such as bank reconciliation for a single entity, against your current process.

Verdict. An interesting agentic layer for corporate finance teams with the right emphasis on auditability, but thin public detail on integrations, security and price makes it pilot-only for now and irrelevant to UK practices.
