About Nilus

Nilus is a treasury platform for finance teams that connects banks, payment providers and ERPs to give cash visibility, forecasting, payments, collections, accounting reconciliation, FX, debt and bank account management. It describes itself as sitting on top of an existing ERP and treasury system rather than replacing it.

On reconciliation, the vendor says Nilus auto-matches payments to invoices and runs continuous bank to general ledger reconciliation, with AI extracting remittance data from email, PDFs and files. It also offers pre-built agents per module, tools to build your own, and a 13 week cash forecast built from actual transactions. Listed ERP connections include Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, NetSuite, Sage and Workday; the vendor cites over 20,000 bank and payment provider connections.

Named customers include Taboola, StackAdapt, Wiz and Similarweb. Press coverage reports a roughly $10M round in January 2025 led by Felicis and Vesey Ventures, with Bessemer participating. The vendor states SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1 and GDPR compliance. It is aimed at mid-market and enterprise finance teams.

Our in-depth review

Nilus pitches itself as applied AI for liquidity, but for accountants the relevant piece is its reconciliation and cash application work. It targets in-house finance teams more than practices serving small clients.

What it does well. The vendor says it reconciles bank to general ledger continuously and auto-matches payments to invoices, quoting 95 to 99 percent auto-match rates (its own figure). AI reads remittance details from emails and PDFs, which is where manual matching usually stalls. It sits on top of existing ERPs rather than replacing them, with Oracle, SAP, Dynamics, NetSuite, Sage and Workday listed. Named customers and a funded backer list give the traction an accountant would want, and SOC 2 Type II and SOC 1 are stated by the vendor.

Where it falls short. Reconciliation is one of nine modules, so you may pay for treasury scope you do not use. Pricing is not published; the page offers a demo and an ROI assessment, and the vendor quotes 30 to 60 days for the connectivity layer. QuickBooks is not mentioned on the pages we read, so small-business ledgers are not the focus. The site carries its own warning that Nilus AI can make mistakes, which is honest but means review steps still matter. Setup effort is real: bank connectivity, ERP mapping and matching rules need finance and IT time, and moving off the platform later would mean rebuilding that work.

Best for. US-style mid-market finance teams with several banks, payment processors and an ERP, and outsourced finance practices serving that kind of client. The market is stated neutrally: the pages reference SWIFT and SEPA but name no single country.

Verdict. A serious option when reconciliation volume and bank connectivity are the problem, not a tool for a handful of small clients. In a demo, ask for your own bank data to be matched, ask what share of items still need review, and get the full module price. For lighter reconciliation, compare Atlar or Round Treasury in this directory. Ask which modules are included in the base price and request references from customers who run reconciliation rather than treasury.
