About Atlar

Atlar is a treasury management platform from Stockholm, with a New York base for its US expansion. It brings cash management, payments, cash flow forecasting, bank reconciliation, investments and debt management into one system that works from live bank balances and transactions.

Atlar connects to more than 100 banks, including UK banks such as Barclays, NatWest and Starling, and syncs with ERPs including NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, SAP S/4HANA and Workday. Reconciliation automates matching, verification and closing across banks and entities. Scheduled AI agents cover payment briefs, cash position, FX exposure, cash sweeps, liquidity gaps, counterparty risk and debt covenants, with a human approving every action; the company's FAQ says the bank reconciliation and forecasting agents are coming soon. Atlar states SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance and DORA alignment. Plans run from Connect, a bank-to-ERP link without a dashboard, through Essential and Professional to Enterprise, all quoted.

It is backed by Index Ventures and General Catalyst, and in September 2025 announced a collaboration with HSBC Innovation Banking UK. Customers shown include Lovable, Tide, Zilch, Babbel and GetYourGuide. It is built for in-house finance and treasury teams at scale-ups and mid-market groups.

The AI Ledger

Our in-depth review

Atlar is a treasury system, not an accounting add-on. Its job is to give a finance team one live view of cash across every bank and entity, move money with approvals, and reconcile what happened. For an accounting practice it matters only where the firm runs outsourced finance or treasury for multi-bank, multi-entity clients.

What it does well. Bank connectivity is the core, and it is strong: more than 100 banks, with Barclays, NatWest and Starling among the UK names, so most UK scale-ups are covered. ERP links to NetSuite, Business Central, SAP S/4HANA and Workday mean reconciled data goes back to the ledger rather than living in a spreadsheet. Security credentials are stated: SOC 2, ISO 27001 and DORA alignment. The tiered plans are sensible, and the entry Connect plan, a plain bank-to-ERP link, is a cheaper way to get bank data flowing without buying a full treasury suite. AI agents require human approval for every action.

Where it falls short. Pricing is quoted on banks, entities and usage, and there is no free trial, so it is hard to compare with lighter tools. Xero, QuickBooks and Sage are not listed integrations, which rules it out for most UK small business clients. The agent most relevant to accountants, bank reconciliation, is described in the company's own FAQ as coming soon, so the AI reconciliation story is partly a roadmap. Implementation is self-managed on the lower tiers and led by Atlar only from Professional upwards.

Best for. Finance teams at venture-backed scale-ups and mid-market groups with several banks, currencies and entities on NetSuite, Business Central or SAP, and outsourced finance firms serving those clients. A practice reconciling Xero clients should look at Booke AI or a native bank feed instead.

Verdict. A well-built, well-secured treasury platform with excellent bank coverage, but for accountants it is a niche tool for larger clients, and the AI reconciliation agent is not yet fully here. Ask for a quote on the Connect or Essential tier and check your client's banks are on the list before a demo.
