About Netgain Consolidation Engine
Netgain Consolidation Engine is new consolidation software from Netgain, the company behind a family of NetSuite-native accounting apps such as NetLease, NetAsset and NetClose. It combines the entities in a group, runs currency translation and intercompany eliminations, and keeps the supporting detail for every consolidated balance, in one run that moves from source freeze and validation through matching, eliminations, ownership, reporting and lock.
The product page says it works as a layer over the general ledger a group already has, and that entities on different systems can be brought into the same run. Each translated balance records the rate, its source, the rate type and the CTA impact, and every consolidated figure traces back to the entity balances and journals beneath it. Partial ownership, non-controlling interests, equity-method positions and mid-year hierarchy changes are handled inside the run. Netgain says it holds bi-annual SOC reports across its products.
Netgain announced a beta on 30 June 2026, recruiting a founding cohort to work with its product team through the end of 2026 ahead of a planned release in the first quarter of 2027; the product page now says it is rolling out with design partners. It is aimed at groups with genuinely complicated ownership, such as real estate, data centre and solar infrastructure businesses.

Our in-depth review
Consolidation is where spreadsheets survive longest in finance teams, because ownership structures, currency translation and intercompany disputes rarely fit a tidy tool. Netgain's new engine is built to take that job off the spreadsheet, and its central promise is that every consolidated number can be traced back to where it came from.
What it does well. The design is audit-minded. Each translated balance carries the rate applied, its source and the CTA impact, intercompany disputes are treated as controlled work with owners, ageing and approvals, and eliminations link approved matches to journals and reviewer sign-off before a number is used. Handling non-controlling interests, equity-method positions and mid-year hierarchy changes inside the run addresses the cases that break simpler tools. Netgain is not a newcomer: it says more than 2,000 businesses and 150 accounting firms use its products, and it reports bi-annual SOC reports.
Where it falls short. This is early software. The June 2026 announcement describes a beta with a founding cohort and general release planned for the first quarter of 2027, and the product page says it is rolling out with design partners. There is no published pricing, only the company's claim that it costs a fraction of specialist consolidation tools. Which ledgers it connects to is not spelt out beyond "the general ledger you already have", so connectors for Xero, Sage or QuickBooks entities should be confirmed rather than assumed. There are no independent reviews yet.
Best for. Finance teams and outsourced accounting firms handling large groups with partial ownership, multiple currencies and many entities, particularly those already using Netgain's NetSuite apps and willing to shape a product in return for early access. Groups that need intercompany matching in a released product today should look at BlackLine, and small UK practices consolidating two or three companies will be better served by their existing reporting tools.
Verdict. A credible builder tackling a genuinely hard problem with the right emphasis on traceability, but it is not yet a finished product. Join the cohort only if you can run it in parallel with your existing consolidation for at least two closes, and get the ledger connectors, pricing and release commitments in writing.
