About Genpact Record-to-Report Suite
The Record-to-Report Suite is part of Genpact's range of agentic AI products for finance. It sits on top of a company's existing ERPs, sub-ledgers and bank files rather than replacing them, adding what Genpact calls a finance domain intelligence layer for the close. It has three modules. Journal Entry turns inputs into standard journal templates, learns from past entries and flags anomalies. Reconciliation uses self-learning agents to check evidence, score match confidence and classify open items with a full audit trail. Intercompany connects several ERPs in one workspace, aligns multi-entity transactions and includes an assistant for questions about intercompany balances.
Agents ingest data into standard records, apply learned matching rules, route exceptions that need judgement to staff and monitor open items and balances on live dashboards. Genpact states that audit trails, exception escalation and role-based access are included, that controls follow SOC 2-aligned practices where applicable and that one client's data is not used to train models for another. It publishes projected benefits, such as up to 70% of journal entries automated, which it labels as estimates.
No pricing is published; Genpact refers to an outcome-based approach and offers demos. It is aimed at large enterprises and shared service centres, often alongside Genpact's finance operations services.

Our in-depth review
Genpact is best known as one of the largest finance and accounting outsourcers, and the Record-to-Report Suite packages the know-how from running other companies' closes into agentic software. The job is the high-volume middle of the close for big organisations: journals, reconciliations and intercompany across many entities and several ERPs.
What it does well. The design reflects real shared-service experience. Intercompany across multiple ERPs is a notorious source of close delays, and a module built specifically to connect and align those systems addresses a genuine pain point. Confidence scoring on reconciliation matches, exception routing to people and full audit trails are the right controls for regulated businesses. Sitting on top of existing ERPs avoids a replacement project, and Genpact's operations teams can run the process if the client wants an outsourced model as well as software. Genpact also states that one client's data is not used to train models for another, which large buyers will want in the contract.
Where it falls short. Almost nothing is public about cost, named customers or deployments of this specific suite, and the headline benefits, such as up to 70% of journals automated and 95% first-pass yield, are explicitly projections. The security language, SOC 2-aligned practices where applicable, is weaker than a straightforward certification statement, so ask for the actual reports. The outcome-based commercial model can blur the line between buying software and buying a service, which makes it hard to compare with products such as BlackLine or FloQast. Nothing here is aimed at Xero, QuickBooks or Sage users, or at accounting practices.
Best for. Large enterprises and global shared service centres with multiple ERPs and heavy intercompany volumes, particularly those already working with Genpact on finance operations. UK accountancy practices and mid-sized companies will find better-fitting close tools elsewhere in this directory.
Verdict. A credible enterprise close layer from a firm that knows the work, but with too little public evidence to judge on its own merits. In evaluation, insist on reference customers using the suite as software, get the commercial model in writing, and test the intercompany module on your most troublesome entity pair.
