About GATHER.nexus
GATHER.nexus is a consolidation and group reporting platform for multi-entity businesses whose companies run on Xero or QuickBooks, including groups that mix the two. It has three modules. Intercompany Control automates recharges with splits, mark-ups and discounts, tracks counterparty balances during the period and reconciles them with automatching. Group Financial Reporting provides group templates, automated elimination journals, topside adjustments and working papers, and handles acquisitions, goodwill and non-controlling interests. Group Financial Planning rolls divisional budgets into a group budget with variance analysis.
GATHER AI, built on Microsoft Azure AI, auto-maps Xero or QuickBooks ledger accounts to group reporting templates; the company says no financial values are sent to the AI engine. The platform is hosted on Azure, uses encryption in transit and at rest, and describes itself as an approved Xero integration partner subject to regular Xero security audits. It is run by CFO Tech Limited and shows prices in GBP among other currencies.
Modules are priced monthly per group with unlimited companies in each group, from £70 a month, and there is a 30-day free trial without a card. It is aimed at finance teams in venture or private equity backed groups, fractional CFOs and accounting firms managing several groups.

Our in-depth review
Consolidating a group that runs each company in its own Xero or QuickBooks file is a classic spreadsheet job: export every trial balance, map the accounts, strip out intercompany balances, deal with currency and minority interests, then do it all again next month. GATHER.nexus automates that job and adds intercompany control and group budgeting around it.
What it does well. It meets small and mid-sized groups where they already are, on Xero or QuickBooks, rather than pushing them to an ERP. Elimination journals, consolidation working papers and support for goodwill, partial ownership and non-controlling interests cover the technical consolidation work that simpler reporting tools skip. The AI is used narrowly and sensibly, auto-mapping ledger accounts to templates, with a clear statement that no financial values leave the platform. Pricing is published and modest, from £70 a month per group with unlimited companies, and a 30-day free trial without a card makes it easy to test on a real group. Being an approved Xero partner subject to Xero security audits is a useful extra assurance.
Where it falls short. Sage, FreeAgent and IRIS ledgers are not supported, so mixed portfolios will need workarounds. The security certifications cited are Microsoft Azure's rather than the company's own, which some procurement teams will query. The AI scope is small, limited to account mapping and capped by action count on the Finance Teams plan. The terms are inconsistent about notice periods, so read the contract. Very large or complex groups with statutory consolidation under full IFRS may still need a specialist consolidation system.
Best for. UK and international groups of two to a few dozen companies on Xero or QuickBooks, private equity and venture backed businesses with monthly board packs, and fractional CFOs or accounting firms producing group accounts for several clients.
Verdict. A practical, fairly priced consolidation tool for Xero and QuickBooks groups that replaces a painful spreadsheet process. Use the free trial on last quarter's consolidation, check the eliminations and FX reserve movements against your own workings, and confirm the notice terms before subscribing.
