About dodocs
dodocs, which calls its product accOS, is an AI ledger layer that sits on top of QuickBooks, Xero and Zoho. It captures invoices, receipts and bank statements sent by email, WhatsApp or mobile upload, extracts the data, reconciles documents against bank feeds and posts them to the ledger, with staff reviewing only the items it flags. Autonomy is set per client, from a shadow mode where nothing posts automatically up to an aggressive setting.
Two modules are live and included in every plan: Chase Loops, which follows clients up for missing documents, and Reconciliation, which matches invoices to statements and flags duplicates and anomalies. Client Health, Period Close, Team Performance and a Payroll Agent are listed as coming soon. The company reports an 87% auto-publish rate and large time savings on chasing and data entry, which are its own figures. It is one of the Startup Battlefield 200 exhibiting at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco from 13 to 15 October.
It is aimed at small accounting and bookkeeping firms and at the in-house finance teams of growing companies, with US dollar pricing and a 14-day free trial that needs no card.

Our in-depth review
dodocs is an early-stage product aimed at the unglamorous core of bookkeeping work: getting documents out of clients and into the ledger without anyone keying them. The idea is sound; the question is how much of it is finished.
What it does well. WhatsApp collection and chasing suit small business clients who ignore email, and combining capture, chasing and reconciliation in one tool saves a small firm from stitching three subscriptions together. The per-client autonomy setting is sensible, because you can run a new client in shadow mode and only let it post once you trust the output. Pricing is published: Firm Starter is $39 a month with the first 10 clients free and $10 per client after that, and Firm Professional is $69 a month for unlimited clients. The trial runs for 14 days without a card, and the site lets you drop in a sample document to see extraction before signing up, which is a quick way to judge accuracy on your own messy receipts.
Where it falls short. Only two modules are live and four are marked coming soon. Both firm plans say consumption rates apply, without saying how much, so total cost at volume is unclear. Neither the site nor the pricing page mentions security certifications or where data is held, which a UK firm handling client records must ask about before uploading anything. There is no sign of VAT handling, sterling pricing, or FreeAgent and Sage support, and search turns up almost no independent coverage. A young supplier sitting between your clients and your ledger is also a continuity risk, so check how you would export your data if it closed.
Best for. Small bookkeeping practices on QuickBooks or Xero that lose hours chasing receipts and want a cheap experiment. Use the free trial on a handful of slow clients in shadow mode, check every posting, and get the consumption charges in writing before moving a whole book. Firms wanting proven capture should compare Dext or AutoEntry, and those mainly fighting slow payers should look at Chaser.
Verdict. Promising and cheap to test, but young, quiet on security and usage charges, and still building most of what it describes.
