About Zamp

Zamp is a sales tax compliance company that pairs its software with an in-house team of tax specialists. It covers nexus tracking, registrations, rooftop-level tax calculation through its API, filing and remittance, notice management and exemption certificate management for US and Canadian sales tax. Customers choose a done-for-you model, where Zamp handles registrations, filings, notices and support, or a done-with-you model, where Zamp prepares the work and the customer's team approves it.

Named integrations are Shopify, Stripe, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, QuickBooks Online and Xero, plus the Zamp API. A free plan gives a one-time nexus analysis, a historical liability estimate, a taxability review and a 30-minute consultation; the paid US and US plus Canada plans are scoped to each business and priced on request, with no per-transaction fees. Under what it calls the Zamp Commitment, it covers penalties or interest arising from its own calculations or filings. Its website lists SOC 2 as in progress. In April 2026 it announced 30 million US dollars of funding led by Acrew Capital with Thomson Reuters Ventures taking part.

It is aimed at growing US ecommerce and consumer brands with exposure in several states, and at accounting firms that want to refer or white-label sales tax work rather than build a team for it.

Our in-depth review

Zamp sells sales tax as a managed service rather than a tool. A growing brand, or the accounting firm behind it, hands over registrations, filings and notices, and Zamp's team does the work on its own software, either outright or with the client approving each step. Since April 2026 it has leaned hard into accounting firms, and the company says more than 120 firms now use it.

What it does well. The managed model suits businesses with no tax staff, and the done-with-you option lets a finance team keep sign-off without doing the labour. Registrations, filings, notices and support are bundled with no per-transaction fees, which avoids the per-filing creep that catches out clients registered in many states. The free plan, a one-time nexus analysis with a liability estimate and a 30-minute consultation, is a low-risk way to size a new client's exposure. The integration list covers the main ecommerce platforms plus QuickBooks Online and Xero, and the white-label option lets a firm offer the service under its own name.

Where it falls short. Paid prices are not published and are scoped per business, so nobody can compare costs without a sales call. For a firm handing over client data and filings, the more pressing point is that Zamp still lists SOC 2 as in progress rather than achieved. Coverage on the pricing page is US and Canada only, despite global claims elsewhere on the site, so UK VAT is not part of the offer. The volume and accuracy figures it publishes are the company's own. Outsourcing compliance also means the knowledge sits with Zamp, which makes a later switch harder.

Best for. US ecommerce and consumer brands with obligations in many states that want sales tax off their desk, and UK or US practices with such clients that would rather refer or white-label the work. Businesses happy to run filings themselves on a published per-filing price should compare Numeral or Kintsugi, and B2B software sellers should look at Anrok.

Verdict. A credible managed service with a penalty commitment and a useful free nexus check, but get the price in writing and a date for SOC 2 before handing over client filings.
