About Xero Analytics
Xero Analytics is the reporting and forecasting layer inside Xero, found under the Reporting tab. It replaces the separate Analytics Plus add-on: Xero's UK page now says analytics is available in all business plans at no extra cost, with deeper features unlocked on higher tiers. It covers cash flow forecasting, business health indicators, customisable dashboards, and on the top tier KPI and ratio analysis with industry benchmarking.
On the UK plans, the cash flow forecast reaches 30 days on Ignite (from £18 a month), 60 days on Grow (£39), 90 days on Comprehensive (£55, which adds health scorecards and budgeting) and 180 days on Ultimate (£70). A February 2026 update added a Cash Flow Manager that forecasts from customers' actual payment behaviour and the business's own bill-paying habits, AI-generated performance insights tailored to the industry, an External Data feature for non-financial metrics such as footfall or review scores, and live view-only dashboard links. Staff and advisers need the Standard plus Reporting or Advisor permission to see it.
It is positioned at small businesses on Xero and at the accountants and bookkeepers who advise them, as a free first step before a dedicated reporting app.

Our in-depth review
For a practice with a Xero client base, Xero Analytics answers the most common adviser question, how much cash will the client have next month, without adding another subscription. The old Analytics Plus add-on has been folded into the plans, so the question is now which tier a client sits on rather than whether to buy an extra.
What it does well. The Cash Flow Manager is the meaningful change: forecasting from how customers actually pay, not just from due dates, gives a more honest short-term picture, and drill-down to the invoices behind a day's movement makes it easy to explain to a client. Everything works on live ledger data with no sync, mapping or extra login, and view-only dashboard links let an adviser share a picture without granting ledger access. Health scorecards on Comprehensive and benchmarking on Ultimate give a starting point for advisory conversations.
Where it falls short. The horizon is tied to the plan, so a client on Ignite gets 30 days and nothing more, and pushing them to Ultimate for 180 days costs £52 a month more than Ignite. There is no scenario modelling, multi-entity consolidation or proper three-way forecast, and the AI insights are generic observations rather than adviser-grade commentary. Xero's own pages still mix the old Analytics Plus wording with the new product, which makes entitlements confusing. Everything stays inside Xero, so it is no help for clients on QuickBooks or Sage.
Best for. UK practices and bookkeepers whose clients are on Xero Comprehensive or Ultimate, and who want a quick cash view and dashboard before paying for a separate tool. Test the Cash Flow Manager against a client with lumpy receivables and compare the forecast to what actually landed. When clients need scenarios, longer horizons or consolidations, Fathom, Syft Analytics or FloatApp in this directory are the next step.
Verdict. A sensible free baseline for Xero clients that now forecasts from real payment behaviour, but plan-gated horizons and no scenario planning mean serious advisory work still needs a dedicated app.
