About Taxfyle TXF Intelligence

TXF Intelligence is an AI tax preparation platform from Taxfyle for US tax and accounting firms. Clients or staff upload documents in bulk, the AI categorises them and extracts data from W-2s, 1099s, receipts and other formats, and the preparer checks the figures on a review screen before anything moves. The prepared return is then transferred into the firm's existing tax software, so compliance and e-filing stay where they are.

It integrates directly with Drake Software and Intuit ProConnect. Taxfyle launched it in June 2025 and ran a demo webinar with the National Association of Enrolled Agents in January 2026. The company states that the platform is SOC 2 Type II certified, uses US-based processing, bank-level encryption and role-based access control. Pricing is published as annual credit plans, from 3,000 US dollars a year for 100 returns, and a seven-day trial includes five credits. Accuracy and time-saving figures quoted on the site, such as 99.8% accuracy and eliminating more than 40% of manual data entry, are the company's own.

Taxfyle positions it for sole practitioners with 30 to 100 clients, local firms with 100 to 300 and regional firms approaching 1,000 clients, as capacity relief rather than a replacement for the preparer. It has no UK features.

Our in-depth review

TXF Intelligence tackles the data entry that eats a US preparer's busy season: sorting a client's uploaded documents, pulling the figures out and getting them into the return. Taxfyle, better known for its marketplace of freelance preparers, built it as a way for small firms to take on more returns without hiring seasonal temps.

What it does well. Pricing is unusually transparent for this category. Annual credit plans run from 3,000 US dollars for 100 returns, about 30 dollars each, to 20,000 dollars for 1,000 returns at 20 dollars each, so a firm can work out its cost per return before a sales call. The review screen keeps the preparer in charge before any data reaches the tax software, and direct transfer into Drake and ProConnect means no change of platform. The company says it is SOC 2 Type II certified with US-based processing. A seven-day trial with five credits is enough to test it on real files.

Where it falls short. Integration is limited to Drake and ProConnect, so firms on Lacerte, UltraTax or CCH Axcess are excluded. Plans are annual with no monthly option shown, which means paying up front for volume a firm may not reach; unused credits are worth asking about. The site does not clearly define a credit, so ask whether a complex return uses more than one. Performance claims, such as 99.8% accuracy and five-minute extraction against hours for a seasonal temp, are the vendor's own. Product news has been quiet since launch, with no new integrations announced in 2026.

Best for. Small and mid-sized US firms on Drake or ProConnect that want predictable per-return costs for document extraction. Firms on other tax software, or wanting a wider integration list, should compare Juno, and those wanting an agent to prepare whole returns with human review should look at Magnetic.

Verdict. A clearly priced, sensibly scoped extraction tool for Drake and ProConnect users, worth a trial on a batch of messy returns before committing to an annual plan.
