About Remitian

Remitian is a Miami based tax payment platform for accounting firms and tax software vendors. It submits tax payments directly to federal, state and provincial authorities and keeps an audit trail of each payment. Firms use a central platform, while software vendors can embed the same capability through an API with jurisdiction based routing and webhook status events.

The company describes its approach as agentic and says it processed $100 million in US tax payments in its first full US season, a figure that is the company's own and not independently verified. It announced a $7 million seed round in March 2026. Its site lists SOC 2 Type II compliance, structured approval workflows and complete activity logs, and names customers including Aprio and AAFCPAs, plus partners such as TaxCycle from Xero and Aiwyn.

It is positioned for firms that want to take payment scheduling and confirmation out of email and spreadsheets, and for tax software vendors that would rather integrate than build payment connections themselves. Pricing is not published on the main page.

Our in-depth review

Tax payments are the unglamorous last step of a return, and most firms still handle them by hand, which is why Remitian is worth a look. It sends payments to the tax authority, confirms them and logs the result, with a client app for review and scheduling.

What it does well. The scope is narrow and clear. Approval workflows, activity logs and SOC 2 Type II compliance (the vendor's own statement) matter when a firm is moving client money. The API route suits software vendors, and the named integrations with TaxCycle and Aiwyn suggest real distribution.

Where it falls short. The AI element is thin on public detail. The vendor calls it agentic, but what is machine judgement and what is plain payment routing is not spelled out. Pricing is behind a sales conversation, the volume figures are self reported, and the evidence is mostly US and Canadian. A UK practice will find little here for HMRC.

Best for. US and Canadian firms with high volumes of estimated payments and balances due, where chasing confirmations eats staff time. Test one busy week of payments in the trial, and ask how failed or rejected payments are handled.

Verdict. A credible niche tool that fixes a real process gap, but judge it as payments infrastructure rather than as AI. Get written pricing and jurisdiction coverage before committing.
