About Deel
Deel is a global people platform for hiring, paying and managing staff and contractors in more than 150 countries. Its products cover local and global payroll, an HR system for every worker type, employer of record employment, contractor management and contractor of record, a US PEO, benefits, device provisioning and support through Deel IT, and in-house visa and immigration handling through Deel Mobility. Payroll can be paid in more than 150 currencies.
Deel AI is described as actionable AI that helps approve hiring, payroll and IT workflows, combined with what the company says are more than 2,000 local experts and in-house compliance logic. Its marketplace lists accounting integrations with Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite and Sage, plus HR and recruiting connections such as BambooHR, HiBob, Personio, Greenhouse and Ashby, so payroll and contractor costs can flow into the client's ledger.
Deel says it has more than 40,000 customers and has processed more than $20 billion of payroll. Pricing is published per worker per month and is month to month, with no long-term commitment required. It is aimed at businesses of any size employing or contracting people across borders, and at the advisers who support them.

Our in-depth review
For an accounting practice, Deel matters when a client starts hiring abroad. Rather than setting up local entities and payroll in each country, the client employs through Deel's employer of record or pays contractors through it, and the practice has to account for the result.
What it does well. Coverage and breadth are the reasons to choose it. More than 150 countries, payments in over 150 currencies and one system for employees, contractors and EOR staff remove a great deal of local admin and compliance risk. Pricing is published and simple to model: $49 per contractor per month, $599 per EOR employee, $325 for contractor of record and $125 for US PEO, all month to month. Accounting integrations with Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite and Sage mean payroll and contractor costs can post to the ledger rather than arriving as one opaque invoice, which is what the practice needs to see. Deel AI handling routine approvals in hiring, payroll and IT is a sensible use of automation in a platform of this scale.
Where it falls short. It is expensive per head compared with running domestic payroll: at $599 a month per EOR employee, a UK client employing locally will always be cheaper on BrightPay or similar. Deel AI is described in broad terms on the site, without specific actions or measured results, so treat it as a convenience rather than a reason to buy. Payroll and HR pricing is not shown on the pricing page. Minimum terms on promotions, such as the two-year term on the PEO offer, carry early termination costs. Practices should also check how EOR costs, deposits and FX are coded when they reach the ledger, because a single Deel invoice can mix wages, employer costs and fees.
Best for. UK and international businesses hiring staff or contractors in several countries without local entities, and the practices advising them on cross-border employment. For UK-only payroll, BrightPay is the better fit, and for US-only small employers, Gusto is simpler.
Verdict. The default choice for multi-country hiring and contractor payments, with clear pricing and proper ledger integrations. Before recommending it, map how its invoices post into Xero or QuickBooks, compare EOR cost against setting up a local entity for larger teams, and read the termination terms.
