About Clark

Clark is an AI platform for audit and accounting firms, formerly called uiAgent. It runs agents that take on repetitive engagement work, such as data entry, journal entry preparation and audit testing, inside the firm's existing workflow. Its current positioning is AI-native audit that the firm still signs, built around the firm's own methodology rather than a fixed template.

The New York company raised a USD 4.6 million seed round led by Marathon Management Partners, with Rerail participating, in September 2025. Third-party profiles report the rename to Clark in June 2026, alongside an expansion from employee benefit plan audits to financial statement, single, not-for-profit, payroll and SOC audits, plus Agent Studio and Methodology Studio. The company says it serves more than 35 CPA firms, including many US top 100 firms, and offers both cloud and on-premise deployment. Its own site is currently a short landing page with a waitlist.

Clark is positioned for US public accounting firms and, per its terms, government agencies. Results quoted at the seed round, such as 80% less manual data entry and 35% faster employee benefit plan audits, are the vendor's own figures.

  • AI agents for financial statement, employee benefit plan, single, not-for-profit, payroll and SOC audits

Our in-depth review

Clark is one of a growing group of start-ups pitching agents that do audit fieldwork rather than just help with it. The difference it claims is that the agents learn and follow each firm's own methodology.

What it does well. The methodology angle answers a real objection from audit partners, who do not want a generic AI process replacing procedures they have defended through peer review. On-premise deployment will matter to firms whose clients or insurers restrict where data goes, and the range of audit types now covered is broad for a company of this size.

Where it falls short. There is very little public detail. The website is a landing page with a waitlist, pricing is not published, and the integrations are not named. Every performance figure comes from the vendor, and the product was rebuilt and renamed in mid-2026, so the current version has a short track record.

Best for. US CPA firms of moderate size with a heavy employee benefit plan or not-for-profit audit book, willing to run a supervised pilot and invest partner time in describing their methodology.

Verdict. Interesting and credibly backed, but too opaque to shortlist without a demonstration on one of your own completed files and references from firms of similar size.
