About Audrey AI
Audrey AI is a Dublin company building agentic AI for financial statement auditors. Its PBC Agent drafts document requests, gives clients immediate feedback on whether what they sent is complete and turns it into structured data. A test of details capability drafts and runs procedures, steering the auditor towards exceptions and judgement calls, and workpapers are traceable from evidence to conclusion. The company says the system adapts to each firm's methodology and tools, learns from prior-year files and auditor feedback, and leaves every output editable with the auditor making the final decision.
Audrey AI was founded in 2025 by Ryan Loughran and David Burke and raised a 1.8 million dollar pre-seed round in April 2026, led by Sure Valley Ventures and Delta Partners with Enterprise Ireland taking part. It holds UKAS-accredited ISO 27001 certification, runs on Azure in the customer's local region, isolates each tenant and says customer data is not used to train models for other firms. It reports live pilots with top 10 and top 20 audit firms and names HLB Ireland as a customer.
It is aimed at mid-sized and larger audit firms in Ireland, the UK and beyond.

Our in-depth review
Audrey AI goes after the part of an external audit that eats the most junior time and causes the most friction with clients: chasing prepared-by-client documents, checking they are complete and turning them into something testable. If that cycle shrinks, the whole engagement timetable moves, which is why this is a sharper target than another general-purpose audit assistant.
What it does well. The PBC Agent gives clients instant completeness feedback, which should cut the back and forth that drags fieldwork out. Tests of detail are drafted and run against the evidence, with the auditor left to judge exceptions, and workpapers trace back to source. Fitting around a firm's own methodology rather than imposing one is the right design choice for a regulated profession. The security story is unusually solid for a company this young: UKAS-accredited ISO 27001, regional Azure hosting, tenant isolation and no cross-firm model training. Each customer also gets a dedicated team including a qualified auditor.
Where it falls short. The 85 percent time saving is the company's own pilot figure, not an independent benchmark. With 1.8 million dollars raised and a 2025 founding date, the team is small and the product early, pricing is not published, and only one customer is named on the site. There is no detail on integrations with audit platforms such as Caseware, and no evidence yet of how its outputs fare in a regulatory file review by the FRC or ICAEW.
Best for. Mid-sized and larger audit practices in Ireland and the UK that are willing to pilot on a handful of engagements and help shape the product. A trial should measure client turnaround on PBC requests and the reviewer time needed to sign off AI-drafted tests, not just preparation hours. Firms that mainly want document extraction inside Excel may get faster value from DataSnipper or Caseware Extractly, while those wanting a full AI-led engagement platform should compare Fieldguide.
Verdict. Sharply targeted with credible early security and partners, but still at pilot stage. A good candidate for a structured trial, not yet a safe default.
