About AuditPro.ai

AuditPro.ai is a cloud platform of AI applications for financial statement audits and reviews. It analyses client documents and data to support audit planning and risk assessment, structured understanding-the-entity work, and the generation of tailored procedures and workpapers, and the company says it can run risk assessments, analytics and procedures on every financial statement line item at any point in time. It describes a multi-model AI engine, real-time team collaboration and no implementation project.

The company was founded in Memphis in 2024 by Payton Baran, a CPA and former DHG financial statement auditor who previously founded LegalConfirm, later acquired by Confirmation.com. The platform launched publicly in June 2025, and in March 2026 AuditPro.ai was named to the AICPA and CPA.com 2026 Startup Accelerator cohort. It states enterprise-grade encryption, multi-factor authentication and privacy-by-design principles, and also runs a programme for accounting educators.

It is aimed at sole practitioners through to regional CPA firms that want an affordable way to use AI on audit and review engagements, with separate positioning for company finance teams preparing for their annual audit.

Our in-depth review

AuditPro.ai is trying to do for a small audit practice what the large firms have built in-house: use AI to speed up planning, risk assessment and the first draft of workpapers, so that partner and manager time goes on judgement rather than assembling files. That is a sensible target, because planning is where small firms often cut corners under time pressure.

What it does well. The workflows are framed the way an auditor thinks, from understanding the entity to tailored procedures, which reflects a founder who has done the job. There is no implementation project and the platform is fully cloud-based, so a firm can try it without IT help. Selection for the AICPA and CPA.com accelerator gives it profession-specific credibility that generic AI writing tools lack, and the security statements cover encryption and multi-factor authentication.

Where it falls short. This is a very young product from a small team. Pricing is not published, independent user reviews are scarce, and the claims that days of work now take minutes are the company's own. There is no named security certification such as SOC 2 on the site, and no stated integration with trial balance tools or ledgers, so data probably goes in by upload. Everything is pitched at US audit and review standards, and AI-drafted procedures still need to survive peer review, which no outside source has yet tested.

Best for. Small US audit and review practices that want to trial AI on planning and workpaper drafting without a platform migration. A sensible pilot is to run it on a completed engagement and compare its risk assessment and procedures with what the team actually did, noting what it missed. UK firms working under ISA (UK) should treat it as an experiment; for a mature engagement platform, AuditFile is the more established choice, and Cortea and Fieldguide are worth comparing for AI-led audit workflows.

Verdict. Well aimed and credibly backed by the profession, but too young to lean on for live engagements. Pilot it carefully alongside your existing method rather than replacing anything.

Well-aimed AI for small-firm audit planning and workpapers with AICPA accelerator backing, but young enough that a careful pilot is the right step.
