About Artifact AI
Artifact AI is an agent-driven accounting automation platform for accounting firms and in-house finance teams. Its agent, Arti, ingests bills, receipts and contracts in real time, categorises transactions, reconciles bank and balance sheet accounts and posts entries to the ledger, each carrying AI scores, explanations and audit trails for human review.
The platform plugs into QuickBooks Online, Xero, Sage and NetSuite with no migration, holds AICPA SOC 2 certification and supports HMRC's Making Tax Digital. The London-based company announced its official US launch in September 2025 with plans for a New York office, and is building Omni, an orchestration layer for cross-platform agentic workflows.
It is positioned for firms scaling client accounting services across hundreds of entities, and for controllers and CFOs who want automation without replacing their existing general ledger.
Key Features

Our in-depth review
Artifact AI sells an appealing promise: keep your existing ledgers and let agents do the bookkeeping around them. The London firm pitches Arti, its AI worker, at accounting practices and finance teams running QuickBooks, Xero, Sage or NetSuite.
What it does well. The no-migration architecture is sensible, and every posting carries an AI score, explanation and audit trail, which is what reviewers actually need. Scope is broad: ingestion, categorisation, bank and balance sheet reconciliation, anomaly detection and close automation. SOC 2 certification and Making Tax Digital support show maturity beyond the usual startup checklist. Claims of 7x first-year ROI, 30 percent margin uplift and 5x staff productivity are the vendor's own numbers, as is a case study citing a 67 percent cut in close time.
Where it falls short. Pricing is not published, so comparisons require a demo. Public customer evidence is thin relative to the boldness of the claims, and the Omni orchestration layer is still at the waitlist stage. Firms should test accuracy on their own messy ledgers before rolling it out across hundreds of entities.
Best for. Multi-entity CAS practices and finance teams that want bookkeeping and close automation inside the ledgers they already run.
Verdict. Worth a serious pilot if the demo matches the marketing, but insist on your own accuracy benchmarks.
