About Anrok
Anrok is a sales tax and VAT/GST compliance platform built for software, AI and eCommerce businesses. It covers the full cycle on one data model: nexus and threshold monitoring, registration, real-time calculation, filing, remittance and reconciliation, across more than 150 countries and over 11,000 US jurisdictions. Implementation typically takes one to four weeks, and prospects can test accuracy on their own data in a sandbox before buying.
The AI layer, Anrok Intelligence, runs through the dashboard, the API and AI agents. It provides always-on exposure monitoring that flags obligations before thresholds are crossed, and Anrok Atlas, the company's AI tax interface, answers tax questions with reasoning the company says is backed by in-house expertise. Anrok claims more than 40 native integrations, including Stripe, NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, Chargebee, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, Shopify and WooCommerce, and added Stripe Connect support in summer 2026. Named customers include Notion, Webflow and Synthesia, and it was founded in 2020 in San Francisco.
It is positioned at finance teams in high-growth digital businesses selling into many US states and countries, and the advisers who support them.

Our in-depth review
Indirect tax is where fast-growing software companies collect nasty surprises: a US state threshold crossed without anyone noticing, or a VAT registration missed in a new market. Anrok's job is to catch those early and then handle the filing, and for an accounting firm with SaaS or AI clients it is one of the platforms most likely to appear in the client's stack.
What it does well. Monitoring, registration, calculation and filing on one data model removes the handoffs that cause most errors. Exposure monitoring that warns before a threshold is crossed is genuinely useful advisory material. Integration breadth is strong, covering billing tools such as Stripe, Chargebee and Zuora as well as ledgers including QuickBooks, Xero and Sage, and calculations run in real time without middleware. Pricing is unusually transparent for the category, and a sandbox to test accuracy on your own data before signing is a confident move.
Where it falls short. The Starter price is $100 per market per month, and each registered US state, the UK and the EU One Stop Shop each count as a market, so a client registered in ten places pays $1,000 a month before any high-volume surcharges. Anything beyond Starter is quoted. The AI claims, including Atlas's expert-backed reasoning, are the company's own, and an adviser should still check its answers. The site describes global VAT coverage but says little about UK specifics such as Making Tax Digital, which for UK VAT returns sits with the ledger rather than Anrok. Physical goods sellers with complex catalogues may find Avalara or TaxJar in this directory more established.
Best for. Digital businesses selling across many US states and countries, and the firms advising them. In a trial, load a client's real billing data into the sandbox, compare calculated tax to what was charged, and price out the markets they actually need. UK-only clients will not need it.
Verdict. One of the cleanest indirect tax platforms for SaaS and AI businesses, with honest pricing, but the per-market fee adds up quickly for clients registered widely.
