About Rex

Rex sells AI agents that run accounts receivable and order-to-cash work on top of an existing finance stack. The agents handle collections, invoice uploads to customer supplier portals, cash application, payment reconciliation, remittance processing and AR inbox management, audit contracts and billing for pricing discrepancies and uncollected fees, and forecast payment dates from customer behaviour. Exceptions, approvals and judgement calls are escalated to people, and the company says the agents follow the customer's procedures, approval rules and authority limits and record every action.

Named ERPs are Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday and Oracle Fusion, along with CRM, email, Microsoft Teams and supplier portals including Coupa, Ariba and Bill.com; the homepage claims support for more than 40 portals and says no migration is needed. Rex states it is SOC 2 Type II certified, adheres to ISO 27001 standards (which is not the same as certification), and uses role-based access, audit logs and AES-256 encryption. Pricing is based on outcomes and the scope of work, benchmarked against in-house teams, shared service centres or outsourcing providers rather than software licences. No figures are published.

It is positioned for enterprise AR teams in consumer goods, manufacturing, software, retail, logistics and distribution with large customer bases and high volumes.

Our in-depth review

Rex blurs the line between software and outsourcing. It deploys AI agents into an enterprise's AR operation, and prices them against the cost of a shared service centre or a BPO provider rather than as seats. For a finance director, the question it poses is whether to hire, offshore or automate the receivables back office.

What it does well. Scope and fit with enterprise reality. Collections, more than 40 supplier portals, cash application, remittances and the AR inbox are exactly where large AR teams spend their hours, and contract and billing audits for uncollected fees add a revenue recovery angle. Working on top of NetSuite, SAP, Dynamics, Workday and Oracle Fusion without migration lowers the barrier, and the governance language, procedures, authority limits, decision traces and human escalation, is what a controller wants to hear. SOC 2 Type II is in place.

Where it falls short. Transparency is limited. The site names no customers beyond an anonymous testimonial and discloses no leadership, headquarters or funding. The performance claims, 12 days off DSO, 20 hours a week saved per operator and rollout in under two weeks, come with no methodology. The security wording says ISO 27001 standards are followed rather than certified, which buyers should note. Outcome-based pricing can align incentives, but only if the baseline and measures are tightly defined in the contract. There is no support for Xero, QuickBooks or Sage, and nothing aimed at UK practice.

Best for. Enterprise AR teams on the major ERPs that are weighing an outsourced or offshore AR function and want an automated alternative. Buyers should ask for named references, the SOC 2 report and a pricing model tied to a clear baseline. Enterprise teams may also compare HighRadius or Transformance, and US mid-market firms Tesorio or Fazeshift in this directory; UK SMEs and practices are better served by Chaser or Kolleno.

Verdict. An interesting outcome-priced alternative to AR outsourcing for large enterprises, with a broad agent scope and sensible governance. The lack of public customers and detail means it should be proven in a tightly scoped pilot before any wider commitment.
