About Aiwyn

Aiwyn is a US platform for running an accounting firm, sold as four products. Aiwyn Payments automates fee invoicing, payment reminders and reconciliation; Aiwyn Practice covers time, billing, projects and resource planning; Aiwyn Experience is a client portal for engagement letters, secure file sharing and client requests; and Aiwyn Tax handles preparation, review, filing and client collaboration. The company says the tax engine was built with AI from the start and in April 2026 announced it was available as a connector inside Claude.

The integrations page lists Caseware, Sage Intacct general ledger and practice management, SafeSend Returns, Thomson Reuters PracticeCS, CCH Axcess Workflow, HubSpot, Fieldguide, Box, Certinia, Remitian, Deltek Maconomy, Vision and Vantagepoint, QuickBooks and IRIS Practice Management. Aiwyn raised $113m in a round led by KKR and Bessemer Venture Partners in late 2024 and has since bought Taxa and Column Tax to build out its tax product. It says more than 800 firms use it; those customer figures are its own.

It is positioned for mid-size and large US CPA firms that want to replace several disconnected billing, portal and practice tools with one system. Pricing is not published and starts with a demo.

Our in-depth review

Aiwyn wants to be the operating system for a US accounting firm's money and client experience: how work is billed, how fees are collected, how clients sign engagement letters and send documents, and increasingly how returns are prepared. The ambition is large and so is the funding behind it.

What it does well. Payments is the most established piece. Automated fee invoicing, reminders and reconciliation tackle a real cash problem, and one customer quoted on the site reports digital payment volume tripling, though that is a single testimonial. Bulk engagement letters and a single client portal solve genuine busy-season pain. The integration list is built for larger firms, naming CCH Axcess Workflow, PracticeCS, Caseware, Sage Intacct, SafeSend and Deltek, and the tax product now runs inside Claude for firms experimenting with AI assistants.

Where it falls short. Almost everything is shaped around the US profession: the tax engine is built around 1040 returns, and there is no sign of MTD, HMRC agent services or UK direct debit collection. Xero is absent from the integrations page; IRIS Practice Management is listed, but UK firms should confirm what that connection actually does. There are no published prices, so the cost of adopting all four products is unknown until a demo. Moving practice management, payments and portal onto one vendor at once is a significant migration and creates real lock-in. The company has also grown partly by acquisition, buying Taxa and Column Tax, so ask how fully those products have been merged into one platform and one support team rather than relying on the demo.

Best for. Mid-size and large US CPA firms, especially those on CCH or Thomson Reuters tools, that want billing, collections and client onboarding in one place. Ask for a pilot on payments alone before committing to the full suite, and check how client payment data and documents can be exported if you leave. UK practices will usually be better served by Karbon, Financial Cents or Ignition in this directory, which support Xero.

Verdict. A well-funded, credible firm operations suite with a strong payments core for larger US firms, but hard to recommend outside the US until UK features and integrations are proven.
